"Love is in the air!" Ark: Survival Evolved developer Studio Wildcard has announced on the action-adventure game's site. And, indeed, Valentine's celebrations come to the title in a few days' time, with a week-long Love Evolved 2 event that brings a bunch of new content to the game. As detailed on the survival game's latest 'Community Crunch' blog post, Love Evolved 2 kicks off on February 11 and runs until February 18. The new activity coming with the festival hinges on catching some "amorous fish" (yes, you read that right) - a special Valentine's variety of Coelacanth will be popping up, and if you reel them in, you'll "be showered in candies, chocolates, and even chibi pets!", as the devs announce. Additionally, mating can also randomly drop chocolates and candies. Sweet. Rates get increased throughout the week-long event, with triple for breeding (mating interval, egg hatch speed, and maturation), as well as taming, player XP, and harvesting. Additionally, there's a batch of new cosmetic content coming with Love Evolved 2, too. Read the rest of the story... RELATED

If you're an Ark: Survival Evolved fan, you'll know that the wilds of the action-adventure game's regular servers can be a challenging place to tackle. To help bring newbies aboard, the game features beginner servers with lower difficulty and various limits, but to keep them ship-shape for their purpose, Studio Wildcard routinely wipes them clean. And, if you're playing on them or thinking of getting into Ark, it's worth knowing when these wipes will happen. The survival game's developer has just announced its latest beginner server wipe has now taken place (as of January 26), and that the next one's due to arrive in spring - March 23, to be exact. "These servers will be wiped periodically to help provide a fresh beginner experience for new players," the dev says on Twitter, explaining to newcomers that you can hop into a beginner server by searching "beginner" in the multiplayer game's server browser. If you're new to the game, it's worth noting that jumping in fresh just after a server wipe has happened can be a good way to get stuck into it for the first time. As SW explains in a previous

Ark: Survival Evolved players get up to all sorts in Studio Wildcard's action-adventure game. It's not all about surviving, either - a quick peek at the Ark: SE subreddit reveals a whole bunch of incredible creatures bred and settlements built by its fanbase. Now, the developer is trialling a new segment in its 'Community Crunch' posts designed to capture players' shenanigans as metrics, revealing what they get up to in-game. "In the past, the community has expressed an interest in analytics, so we'd like to pilot a new segment called 'Last Week In Ark' that highlights general analytics and statistics we collect on the back-end," the studio announces in its latest Community Crunch post. In the first sample of this feature, Studio Wildcard offers a smattering of graphs that give an idea of how many kills there have been by wild dino type and players killed by weapon type across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox. For example, it looks like Raptors have come out on top across all three platforms in terms of kills, there being a whopping 130k-ish kills in total over the week 10-16 January. PC players

During its Extra Life 24-hour charity stream, Studio Wildcard revealed Ark: Genesis Part II, the newest expansion for Ark: Survival Evolved. A teaser trailer broadcast at the start of the stream featured some pretty stunning new visuals to eyeball, as well as a release window - oh, and news that Genesis Part II will include a voiceover from David Tennant, who many will recognise from his time as the tenth Doctor on Doctor Who. The expansion revolves around the final confrontation between Sir Edmund Rockwell (David Tennant) and HLN-A (Madeleine Madden) on a colony ship making its way through deep space. Players must possess enemies using creatures called "Noglins", which have brain-controlling powers, ride on the skateboard-like Hoversail, and manage bases in order to stop Rockwell's nefarious plans. New biomes, story missions, and exotic creatures will be introduced to the dinosaur game's new expansion when it launches in March 2021. A second trailer was also shown during the Extra Life charity stream giving fans a look at TLC pass 3. The woolly mammoth and stegosaurus look even more deadly with their visual updates and the ability to breed insects and wyvern should prove a refreshing change to the title. <a

Ark cheat codes and admin commands are the secret to making the world of Ark a less terrifying place. You can boost your experience points, instantly tame a dinosaur, add an item to your inventory, or even destroy every dinosaur in the land, simply by using a code word.
